Motorists in Wexford are being reminded to take notice of a new speed limit change in neighbouring county Carlow. The change, which takes effect from noon today, will apply to the main Bunclody to Carlow Road. From 12 today, the speed limits on the N80 Bunclody to Carlow road and the N81 road to Tullow, are being reduced from 100 km/hr, to 80 km/hr. The effect, will see motorists who drive past Enniscorthy and Bunclody, reducing their speed on the entirety of the route to Carlow, including in townlands such as Kildavin, Ballon, Fenagh and Tinryland. The change, enacted by Carlow County Council in consultation with An Garda Síochána, comes following multiple road traffic collisions over the past number of years on the route. The speed reduction comes 7 months after a static speed camera was installed north of the Fighting Cocks - a notorious accident black spot. Report thanks to John Moynihan
