Teachers forced to spend time fundraising

Its claimed some teachers spend valuable teaching time fundraising, rather than with students.

New figures show parents are forced to fork out 46 million euro a year to help primary schools pay for lighting, heating and insurance. The Catholic Primary Schools Management Association says the capitation grants only cover half the day to day costs.
