Thousands of homes in california threatened by massive wildfires

Fire officials in California have issued the most severe wind warning for the first time ever - as wildfires threaten thousands of homes.

Flames have destroyed properties in the upmarket Bel Air neighbourhood - while nearby Hollywood has halted production on some TV shows. About 200-thousand people in the Los Angeles area have been told to leave.
