Two Arrested Following Garda Pursuit on New Ross Bypass

Two people have been arrested following a Garda pursuit on the New Ross Bypass.

Gardaí say a Suzuki Swift was detected travelling at 120 kilometres per hour in a 100 kilometre-per-hour zone on Monday morning, September 28th.

The driver allegedly failed to stop when signalled by Gardaí and the vehicle was subsequently driven into a ditch.

Gardaí say the driver, who was a learner permit holder, was found to have no valid insurance.

The driver was arrested after returning a positive roadside test for cannabis.

A passenger travelling in the front of the vehicle was also arrested after Gardaí established that the person was the subject of four outstanding warrants.

Both individuals are now subject to the relevant legal proceedings.

Gardaí in the New Ross area thanked colleagues in Ferrybank and Waterford City for their assistance during the incident.
