Water Supply Disruption in Ballindaggan

Uisce Éireann is advising customers in Ballindaggan and surrounding areas in County Wexford of a water supply disruption following an interruption at the Ballindaggan Water Treatment Plant. The disruption is expected to cause outages in the affected areas, with water supplies anticipated to be restored by 4pm today. As an alternative, Uisce Éireann has set up a water distribution point at Ballindaggan Church, where customers can collect water. Customers are urged to bring their own containers and to boil the water before use as a precautionary measure. In a statement to South East Radio News, Padraig Lyng from Uisce Éireann is assuring the public that efforts are being made to restore the water supply as quickly as possible. "We understand the inconvenience caused by this unplanned outage and appreciate our customers’ patience as we continue our work," he said. Once repairs are completed, it may take up to two to three hours for normal supply to be fully restored, although it could take longer for customers located at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges. For vulnerable customers who are registered with Uisce Éireann, direct communication will be provided in the event of outages lasting more than four hours. To register as a vulnerable customer, or for further information, visit Uisce Éireann’s Vulnerable Customers page. 24/7 through their website, X @IWCare, and their customer care helpline at 1800 278 278.
