Wexford bucks private housing shortage trend
County Wexford has one of highest housing surpluses in the country. Data from the National Housing Agency shows that there were 950 houses completed in the county over the past two years. This is set against an estimated need, over that period, of just 200 homes. The excess of 750 houses already completed will greatly relieve the pressure on house building in the county over the next few years. The need for that period have been put at just over 1,100 in County Wexford. Instead of a housing surplus most counties along the east coast have a housing deficit with Wexford going against that trend.
