Wexford County Council has the highest rate of domestic septic tank inspections in the country.
That's according to new figures released by the EPA where nationally forty nine per cent of septic tanks failed to meet required standards. Wexford County Council is required by the EPA to inspect 67 tanks annually. However in 2015 the council inspected 105 while last year they inspected 129 in the county. The inspections are generally based on where environmental risk is the greatest.
