National Broadband Ireland (NBI) has announced that the first 500 homes and businesses near Gorey can now connect to its high-speed fibre network. By the end of the year, a further 2,300 Wexford premises in the area will be connected, with over 20,800 homes, farms, and businesses across the county already able to pre-order fibre broadband.
NBI is delivering 500 Mbps minimum speeds to rural communities under the National Broadband Plan, supporting remote working, education, healthcare, and local businesses. Residents are encouraged to check their Eircode at nbi.ie to see if they can connect and to explore available broadband providers.
The rollout is part of the State’s biggest rural investment since electrification, with €88 million allocated to Wexford. Across Ireland, NBI has now passed over 456,000 premises, with more than 168,000 connected to date.
