Wexford House Prices Reach €300,000 as Annual Growth Continues

The median asking price for a home in County Wexford has climbed to €300,000, according to the latest MyHome Property Report for the first quarter of 2026.

The report, published in association with Bank of Ireland, shows asking prices in Wexford increased by 5% over the past year, with the county continuing to experience steady growth despite signs that the national property market is beginning to cool.

The €300,000 median asking price represents an increase of €5,000 since the end of 2025, when the average asking price stood at €295,000.

Nationally, annual asking price inflation eased to 4.7%, its lowest level in more than two years, suggesting that while prices are still rising, the pace of growth is beginning to moderate. Outside Dublin, however, demand remains strong, with annual inflation running at 6.1%.

The MyHome report points to an ongoing shortage of homes for sale as the main factor supporting prices across the country. Although supply has improved slightly in some areas, it remains well below the level needed to meet buyer demand.

For prospective buyers in Wexford, the latest figures mean affordability continues to be a challenge, particularly for first-time purchasers. However, the slower pace of price growth nationally may offer some encouragement that the rapid increases seen in recent years are beginning to stabilise.

Wexford remains one of the more affordable counties in the south-east when compared with neighbouring Wicklow and parts of the Dublin commuter belt, while continuing to attract buyers seeking larger homes, coastal locations and improved value.

The MyHome Property Report also notes that nationally, homes are continuing to achieve prices above their original asking price in many cases, reflecting the competitive nature of the market where supply remains constrained.

With interest rates stabilising and housing supply expected to remain limited throughout 2026, analysts believe the property market is likely to see continued, albeit more modest, price growth over the remainder of the year.
