A new Irish record for a fish catch has been achieved by a Wexford man.
Dean Quigley from Kilmore caught a Smooth Hound, a type of small shark weighing almost twenty five pounds at Kilmore Quay on 10th of June last. The previous record was nineteen pounds and the new one has been ratified by the Irish Fish Specimen Committee. The fish was caught off shore as opposed to from a boat.
