The price of the humble spud is likley to increase this year according to Wexford IFA.

Warm weather and near drought conditions will result in poorer yield for potatoes as well as wheat and some fruits. High temperatures have affected parts of Europe too, including Spain and Portugal, which have both been gripped by wildfires. Ger O Mahony is environmental chairperson with Wexford IFA.
