Wexford has experienced another year of strong residential development, with over 1,000 new homes delivered across the county in 2025. This marks the second consecutive year of impressive housing growth, according to recent figures released by James Browne TD, Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
In addition to the 1,000 new homes completed in 2025, it was announced that more than 2,600 new homes were commenced in 2024 and 2025, further underscoring the county’s robust housing momentum. This trend reflects a broader national shift toward increased homebuilding, driven by a mix of public and private sector efforts to meet rising demand.
Minister James Browne TD welcomed the continued progress, stating: “Delivering over 1,000 new homes in Wexford for the second year in a row is not only a significant milestone for the county, but more importantly, it means new homes that provide security, stability and opportunity for individuals and families.”
The Minister also praised the strong partnership between the public and private sectors, which has been key to the continued housing success in Wexford. He emphasized that the county’s housing growth is a result of collective efforts across various levels of government and the construction industry.
However, the Minister also highlighted the importance of sustained housing delivery, pointing out that while progress has been strong, there is still a need for continued action to meet the growing demand for affordable and secure homes across Wexford and the rest of the country.
As TD for Wexford and Minister for Housing, James Browne reiterated his commitment to ensuring that the momentum in housing development continues, with a focus on affordable and secure housing for all. “I will take the necessary steps to ensure we deliver the homes people need across our county,” he concluded.
