Wexford TD Urges Immediate Fuel Cost Action as Dáil Debate Intensifies

The Dail will hear calls for immediate action to be taken on fuel costs this evening.

Sinn Fein is bringing forward a plan for emergency legislation  because it says the coalition is ‘dithering’ on the issue.

In response to the motion, a Government spokesperson said international and national developments in the fuel markets are being monitored, and Ministers are ‘acutely aware’ of the impact of rising prices on households and businesses. Sinn Fein TD Pearse Doherty says cuts to excise duty should be taken now.

Also speaking to Alan earlier Wexford's Age Friendly Ambassador and former TD Tony Dempsey says many people continue to struggle to make ends meet. He said rising living costs are putting increasing pressure on households, with the elderly among the hardest hit.
