More Than a Hot Flush – Breaking the Silence on Menopause
Menopause is about so much more than hot flushes and night sweats. So why are so many women still suffering in silence, struggling with symptoms they never knew were connected to menopause?
Ahead of World Menopause Day on October 18th, Shine a Light with Siobhán Murphy opens up a conversation that is long overdue.
In this special episode, a panel of women share their personal experiences of navigating perimenopause and menopause, from debilitating anxiety, sleepless nights, brain fog and loss of confidence to changes in libido, vaginal dryness, relationships and the impact on everyday life.
Joining the conversation is the fabulous pharmacist and women's health advocate Laura Dowling, who helps tackle the questions women are often too embarrassed to ask, challenges the stigma surrounding menopause and explores why better information, understanding and support are so important.
There'll be honesty, laughter, difficult conversations and, above all, reassurance that women deserve to be heard, understood and supported through this significant stage of life.
And this programme isn't just for women. Husbands, partners, sons, colleagues and employers all have a role to play in understanding menopause and the impact it can have.
Because menopause is more than a hot flush. It's a life-changing experience that deserves more than a whispered conversation.
Shine a Light with Siobhán Murphy – giving a voice to the stories, people and lived experiences that don't always get the recognition they deserve
