Parents who have experienced the death of a child are being invited to a special bereavement information evening in County Wexford tonight
Anam Cara will hold its South East Bereavement Information Evening at the Brandon House Hotel in New Ross on Tuesday October 6th from 7pm until 9pm.
The event is open to all bereaved parents, regardless of the age of their child, the circumstances surrounding their death or the length of time since their bereavement.
Anam Cara says the evening will provide gentle support and evidence-based information for parents navigating the death of a child, as well as an opportunity to meet others who understand the particular nature of parental grief.
Psychotherapist and bereavement specialist Brid Carroll will be the guest speaker.
Ms Carroll previously worked as a Bereavement Liaison Officer with the HSE in the South East and now works as a bereavement educator and researcher.
She has more than 30 years' experience supporting parents, families and children dealing with death and bereavement.
Anam Cara says its support groups place a strong emphasis on peer support and are open to parents at any stage of their grief.
A separate information event for professionals who work with bereaved families will also take place at the Brandon House Hotel on Wednesday, October 7th.
Further information and registration details are available through the Anam Cara website.
