Brendan howlin tightlipped on consultancy money
The Public Expenditure Minister has refused to say whether the 86 million euro in consultancy fees at Irish Water is money well spent. Some of the agency's senior staff face questions at the Public Accounts Committee later today. CEO John Tierney has already defended the spending on external consultants - he says it was necessary to deliver a nationwide water system. But Minister Brendan Howlin says the regulator has yet to decide whether or not that money was properly spent.
