Calls for old a and e at wexford general to be turned into dialysis unit
There's been a call for the old A and E department at Wexford General Hospital to be turned into a dedicated dialysis unit. Independent County Councillor Ger Carthy - who's also a paramedic - says people are being forced to travel to Waterford and Dublin in order to receive treament. But he says this practice could be brought to an end with the development of the old emergency department at the Wexford hospital. Councillor Carthy says the facilities and infrastructure is already in place if funding could be made available.
