A new collaboration between Clean Coasts and parkrun Ireland has been hailed a success following a joint event at Wexford Racecourse.
Clean Coasts attended the Wexford Racecourse parkrun on Saturday, May 23 to promote its #2MinuteBeachClean campaign, encouraging participants to take small actions to help protect the environment.
Set against the backdrop of Wexford Harbour, the event saw 128 people take part, with strong interest shown in the initiative. Many participants, including families and teachers, engaged with campaign officer Anne Marie Kirwan to learn how they and their communities can get involved.
Several participants received #2MinuteBeachClean kits, including foldable litter pickers to support quick clean-ups while out and about.
Parkrun, a free weekly 5km community event, is known for its inclusive and welcoming atmosphere—making it an ideal platform to promote environmental awareness.
Organisers say the collaboration highlights how simple actions, like taking two minutes to pick up litter, can make a meaningful difference while supporting both community wellbeing and environmental protection.
