A new community theatre production is set to take to the stage this May, combining music, dance, and young local talent in a feel-good show with a strong charitable purpose.
Miss Congeniality: The Musical will be performed at the Ashdown Park Hotel on May 13th and 14th at 7.30pm, featuring a cast of children performing for children in a high-energy production full of heart, music, and humour.
Directed and produced by Iris Conway, with musical direction by Michael Conway, the show brings together a vibrant young cast alongside performers including Irish dancer Caroline Fleming and young actor Emanuel Alon. The production continues a growing tradition of large-scale community shows, and this year is described by the team as their most ambitious yet.
At the centre of the project is a strong charitable focus. A significant portion of proceeds will go to LauraLynn, Ireland’s Children’s Hospice, supporting children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
The team say the goal is to create something entertaining and uplifting, while also making a meaningful contribution to a cause that directly supports children in need.
Alongside the live performances, a family ticket giveaway is also planned for listeners through a radio competition, helping to further spread awareness and engagement with the show.
Blending community spirit, youth performance, and fundraising, the production promises an evening of entertainment with real purpose behind it.
