Confusion over return of special needs classes

The process of reopening special schools has been a series of mixed messages and u-turns.

That's according to a joint statement by four leading advocacy groups, which say children with special needs have been almost completely forgotten in the row between unions and the Department of Education. Unresolved issues around health and safety mean the reopening of schools on Thursday may be delayed for a second time.
