The Justice Minister says he looks forward to a respectful debate on divorce.
Charlie Flanagan confirmed a referendum on the issue will take place alongside the local and European elections in May. If passed the mandatory period of separation for those seeking a divorce will be reduced from four years to two. Minister Flanagan confirmed that today's announcement now means that the proposed referendum on a woman's place in the home will be postponed.
