Eleven Wexford Students Receive Prestigious Entrance Awards from Trinity College Dublin

Eleven students from Wexford have been honoured with Entrance Exhibition Awards from Trinity College Dublin in recognition of their outstanding performances in their final school examinations. The awards, which acknowledge students who achieve the highest points among Trinity entrants from their secondary school, are awarded to those who secure a minimum of 500 CAO points (or equivalent)

The Wexford students recognised this year are:

  • Niamh Cox, FCJ Secondary School, Enniscorthy

  • Nour El Nashar, Coláiste Bríde, Enniscorthy

  • Thomas Murphy, Good Counsel College, New Ross

  • Aaliyah Animashaun, Scoil Mhuire, New Ross

  • Cillian Ferriter, Scoil na mBráithre/CBS

  • Páidí Breen, St. Peter’s College

  • Amy Hanton, Loreto Convent

  • Ruby Murphy, Presentation Secondary School

  • Kate Copeland, Meánscoil Garman, Enniscorthy

  • Katherine Mc Glynn-Green, Vocational School, Bunclody

  • Oisín Hughes, Gorey Community School

A total of 602 first-year students from Ireland and overseas received awards, with 59 recipients from 39 countries outside of Ireland. The students and their school principals attended a celebratory ceremony at Trinity’s Examination Hall from January 20-22, 2026.

Trinity Provost Dr. Linda Doyle congratulated the awardees, commending their hard work and dedication. The awards are not only a recognition of academic excellence but also come with a €150 book token and a certificate. Many past recipients have gone on to contribute significantly to Ireland’s cultural, economic, and political life, with notable former awardees including Taoiseach Leo Varadkar.
