An Enniscorthy man is among four Irish players preparing to represent the country at the Mixed Ability Rugby World Cup in Spain.
Paul Deacon travels 220 kilometres every week to play rugby in Dublin and is now preparing to take part in the international tournament.
His journey is also being captured in a new documentary called 'Try!' -directed by Oisín Mistéil - it follows the players as they prepare for the competition.
Speaking to Alan Corcoran on South East Radio’s Morning Mix today, Paul said he has been playing mixed ability rugby for eight years and that the experience has encouraged him to give back to his community.
He said the sport is about bringing people together, rather than defining them by their disabilities.
Paul added that mixed ability rugby is for women as well as men, highlighting its inclusive nature and the opportunities it creates for people from all backgrounds.
The documentary celebrates inclusion and the power of sport to bring people together, showing how mixed ability rugby can make a positive difference to individuals and communities.
