Full social welfare christmas bonus to be paid for the first time in a decade

Over 1.2 million people on social welfare will get the Christmas bonus from next week.

The Department of Social Protection's confirmed people including carers, pensioners and those on jobseeker's allowance will receive the payment. It's the first time in a decade that a full Christmas bonus will be paid at a cost of €264 million.
