Funeral of mother stabbed by her husband takes place in cork

The funeral has taken place of a 49 year old mother of two who died in tragic circumstances at the family home in Cobh, Co Cork, last Sunday. Valerie Greaney from O'Neill Place will be buried at St Colman's Cemetery in the town. Mrs Greaney's husband, Michael, who took his own life after fatally stabbing his wife, will be buried alongside her following a separate funeral tomorrow. The couple's eldest daughter Michelle, who was also injured in the incident, attended the funeral alongside her sister, accompanied by two nurses from Cork University Hospital.
