A man in his 20s has died following a single-vehicle road traffic collision on the R702 between Borris and Goresbridge in County Carlow this morning.
The crash happened at Bally-tig-lea at around twenty past six.
The road remains closed for a technical examination with local diversions in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who travelled on the route between half past five and half past six this morning, particularly those with dash-cam footage, to contact them.
The victim is the second man in his 20s to lose his life in a road traffic collision in the South East this week and brings to 66 the number of people killed on the roads so far this year.
