Gardaí in Wexford are appealing for witnesses following a hit and run last night on the road between Killurin and Ballymackessy Cross.
A cyclist was seriously injured in the incident. The victim had left Glynn/barntown GAA club and was travelling on the road on his bike when he was struck from behind by a car. The vehicle failed to stop and he was knocked into a ditch. His injuries are said to be serious but not life-threatening. The incident happened about 700 metres north of Marty B's pub on the R 730 on the road between Killurin and Ballymackessy Cross. Anyone who travelled along that road between the hours of 9.30 and 10.30 last night are being asked to get in contact with Gardaí in Wexford on 053 916 5200.
