General booking has opened today, 1 July, for the 20th anniversary New Ross Piano Festival, which takes place from 23–27 September.
The milestone festival will feature five days of piano performances, bringing together internationally acclaimed musicians and emerging Irish and international talent to celebrate two decades of music in New Ross.
The programme opens with the Young Pianist Concert, showcasing 20 young performers from across the southeast, and continues with a series of recitals featuring artists including Jamie Duffy, Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, Anna Fedorova, Rebeca Omordia, Dida Condria, Fabrizio Chiovetta, and jazz pianist Judy Carmichael.
A highlight of this year’s festival will be the world premiere of The Essential Isness of Being by Kilkenny composer Gerry Murphy, performed by Artistic Director Finghin Collins.
The festival will conclude with a Concerto Gala featuring the RTÉ Concert Orchestra performing works by Beethoven, Chopin and Grieg.
Artistic Director Finghin Collins said this year’s programme brings together world-class performers and emerging talent for a memorable anniversary celebration.
