Today is National Poetry Day in Ireland, and this year’s theme is “Home” a fitting focus for a special evening of words, reflection and connection.
A poetry reading will take place this evening, Thursday 28th May at 7pm in Wexford Library to mark the occasion. The event follows on from a recent successful poetry showcase at the National Opera House and continues the celebration of local and national voices.
Taking part in tonight’s reading are Paul Hennessy and Margaret Galvin, alongside other contributors including Anne and the sender. Music on the night will be provided by Éire Ní Faoláin, adding a musical layer to an evening centred on poetry and storytelling.
All are welcome to attend for what promises to be a warm and reflective celebration of “Home” through poetry and performance.
