The weather is set to remain unsettled this week, with more rain and the possibility of thundery downpours on Wednesday.
Met Éireann warns that the coming days will see repeated bands of rain across the country, but there may be some dry spells, offering hope for swollen rivers across the region.
In Wexford, Johnstown Castle recorded its highest tri-monthly rainfall in 85 years.
Meanwhile, A number of transatlantic flights have been cancelled, as Storm Hernando hits the east coast of America.
Dublin Airport has confirmed 13 flights to and from JFK, Boston and Newark have been cancelled due to "adverse weather".
The 14.45 from Shannon to Boston has also been grounded.
Passengers are advised to contact their airline for updates.
Hernando is set to bring heavy snow, strong winds and coastal flooding in eastern parts of the US.
