South East Technological University (SETU) has welcomed the announcement by specialist medical travel insurance provider JustCover that it will establish a new office on the University’s Carlow campus, with a strategic growth plan that commits to creating 22 new jobs in the region.
JustCover, part of international insurance group InsurEvo, will locate its Irish operation in the Corporate Services Building at SETU’s Carlow campus. The move represents a significant investment in the South East and marks the first corporate client to take space in the building, which was developed to support stronger collaboration between industry and the university.
Established in 2003, JustCover is a specialist provider of medical travel insurance and a market leader in tailored cover for customers with pre-existing medical conditions. With more than two decades of experience, the company provides policies designed to meet the diverse needs of travellers across the UK and Europe.
The new Carlow office will support JustCover’s continued growth in the European market and will create a range of employment opportunities in the region, contributing to the economic development of Carlow and the wider South East.
David Denieffe, Chief Operations Officer at South East Technological University (SETU), said, “We are very pleased to welcome JustCover to our Carlow campus as the first corporate client in our new Corporate Services Building. Their decision to locate here, alongside a commitment to create 22 jobs, is a strong endorsement of the region’s talent base and the calibre of graduates emerging from South East Technological University.”
Maeve McConnon, Head of Financial Services at IDA Ireland, added, “InsurEvo’s decision to expand into Carlow and establish its European hub is a positive development for the South East region and reflects the attractiveness of Ireland as a location for Foreign Direct Investment. We look forward to seeing InsurEvo grow its operations and wish the team every success with this expansion.”
The announcement highlights the role of South East Technological University (SETU) in supporting regional development by providing industry-focused facilities, a skilled graduate workforce, and opportunities for collaboration between academia and enterprise.
The establishment of JustCover’s Carlow office represents an important step in strengthening the South East’s position as a location for international business investment and job creation.
