Labour call for free book scheme to help parents with school costs

A Labour Senator says a free book scheme could help bring down back to school costs.

A new survey by children's charity Barnardos reveals the cost of sending a child to secondary school is €800. While parents of primary school students are spending up to 100 Euro on books. Aodhan O' Riordan says the Government needs to look at funding a book rental scheme.
