A call has gone out for new and original Irish-language music as part of this year’s Irish Music Month.
Amhrán an Laoch, the Irish-language song search, is inviting artists and acts from across the country to submit their music and showcase their creativity through the Irish language.
Here at South East Radio, local musicians and songwriters are being encouraged to get involved.
Entries can include songs written and performed entirely in Irish, music combining Irish and English, or collaborations with Irish-language music creators.
The initiative aims to give new Irish-language music a platform, while encouraging artists to experiment with and celebrate the language through contemporary music.
Our Local Hero Award 4 finalists will be announced tomorrow as part of that with Hot Press & IBI.
