A 35-year-old man has been found guilty of the murder of 58-year-old John O’Connor in New Ross on New Year’s Eve 2024.
Wayne Roche, formerly of Dominic’s Place in Waterford City, had denied murder but admitted manslaughter.
The Central Criminal Court in Waterford heard Mr O’Connor was found dead in his apartment at Cluain Fada on December 31st last year.
After more than three hours of deliberations, the jury returned a unanimous guilty verdict.
Roche will receive the mandatory life sentence when he is sentenced in Dublin next month.
