MarineWatch to host Circle of Light in Wexford for World Suicide Prevention Day

Wexford will mark World Suicide Prevention Day today with MarineWatch’s annual Circle of Light vigil, remembering those who have lost their lives to suicide and supporting those who may be struggling.

The event takes place tonight at 9pm at the Marina Arm on Wexford Quayfront, with a short prayer service in memory of those who have lost their battles with mental health.

The public are invited to remember, reflect and support one another. Attendees are asked to bring a candle or tealight, as these will not be provided.

MarineWatch was established in 2012 and continues to carry out suicide-prevention and water-safety patrols around Wexford Harbour. More than 100 trained volunteers are involved, offering support to people in difficulty while liaising with the appropriate emergency services.

The Circle of Light is open to everyone tonight at 9pm at the Marina Arm.
