The Government is being warned that nursing homes will have to close due to financial pressures.
31 of them have closed in the past three years with two of them closing here in Wexford - meaning the loss of 49 beds in the County. Nursing Homes Ireland says a Fair Deal Rate pricing mechanism is no longer fit for purpose. Its CEO, Tadhg Daly, says immediate action needs to be taken before other homes close - he told South East Radio that the NHI will be putting their report that was undertaken with Price Waterhouse Coopers, to cabinet today.
