Figures released from the AA today show that car breakdowns are up 4% on last year.
Electrical problems remain the number one cause for a breakdown with 27% of callouts dealing with them. Dead car batteries were the cause of over 28,000 breakdowns. Conor Faughan from the AA says that while the numbers can be contributed to a rise in cars on the road, drivers need to be more careful and carry out regular maintanence checks on their vehicles
