A new initiative aimed at attracting investment, supporting business growth and promoting County Wexford as a place to live and work has been officially launched.
Invest Wexford, a refreshed investment promotion brand and website developed by Wexford County Council, was unveiled at Wexford GAA’s Game Changers event in Croke Park.
The initiative is designed to raise the profile of the county nationally and internationally and showcase Wexford’s economic strengths, skilled workforce, connectivity and quality of life.
Wexford County Council says the platform will act as a central point of information for businesses, investors and prospective employees considering opportunities in the county.
Cathaoirleach of Wexford County Council, Cllr Lisa McDonald, said the initiative would help communicate Wexford’s strengths to a wider audience.
She said:
“County Wexford has a strong and diverse economy, a highly skilled workforce and a growing reputation as an outstanding coastal location in which to live and work.”
She added that the council’s ambition is to build on existing opportunities while creating new ones in investment, innovation and employment.
The launch was performed by Wexford ambassador Mark Redmond, the recently appointed Director General Designate of the Institute of International and European Affairs.
He said Wexford offers a strong combination of talent, educational opportunities, connectivity and quality of life for businesses looking to relocate, expand or grow.
Wexford GAA is also partnering with the council on the initiative.
Chairperson John Kenny said the county has significant potential across business, sport and community life and that the partnership is focused on attracting investment, creating employment and strengthening local communities.
The event also brought together representatives from Wexford County Council, SETU, Rosslare Europort and Enterprise Ireland, as well as figures from Wexford GAA.
The new Invest Wexford website will promote opportunities across the county under the message “Invest. Scale. Thrive.”
