New study finds wexford one of the counties worst hit by the recession

A new study has found that counties most distant from commuter belts bore the brunt of the recession.

Wexford is one of those counties and also includes Kildare, Meath, Roscommon, Cavan, Laois and Offaly. The Pobal Deprivation Index shows that poverty is a long term and entrenched problem in those rural counties.
