Newtown Park Hotel recognised as a Great Place to Work

Newtown Park Hotel in Wexford has been officially certified as a Great Place to Work following direct feedback from its employees.

The recognition is based on a comprehensive and anonymous workplace survey carried out by Great Place to Work Ireland, assessing employee experience and workplace culture.

The 110-bedroom hotel, formerly operated under the Maldron brand, was acquired by local businessman Colm Neville in autumn 2024.

Since then, significant investment has been made in the property, including a full refurbishment of The Courtyard Bar, improvements to the hotel’s food offering, a complete revamp of Newtown Park Health & Fitness Club and a makeover of the main hotel lobby.

The latest certification follows another recent accolade for the Wexford hotel, which was named a Quality Employer Hotel for 2026 under the Irish Hotels Federation’s Quality Employer Programme.

Newtown Park Hotel currently employs 110 people and says it places a strong emphasis on staff development, work-life balance and creating opportunities for employees to build long-term careers in the hospitality industry.

General Manager Michael Halpin said the recognition was particularly significant because it was based on the views of the hotel’s own employees.

“We believe in treating people as we would like to be treated ourselves, creating a workplace where our team feels valued and supported, with a strong focus on work-life balance.”

He said the hotel’s employees are at the heart of its success.

“Being recognised as a Great Place to Work, based on feedback from our own team, is a fantastic endorsement of the culture we are building at Newtown Park Hotel.

“We’re incredibly proud of our team and the care, commitment and exception
