Proposed luas strike would do 'huge damage'
The proposed Luas strike would do huge damage to the transport network and to thousands of commuters. That is according to the Transport Minister Paschal Donohoe, who says it is important that talks with unions continue to avert a strike. Action is planned for the 11th and 12th of February with another strike the following week. Minister Donohoe says the strikes would cause serious disruption for 90,000 commuters in Dublin. "The Luas is so important to keeping our city going, to allow people to get in and out of work" he said. "And for a strike like this to happen, for the number of days that are proposed, would do huge damage to the ability of people to commute - and also huge damage to the Luas itself" he added.
