Public invited to have their say on future flood protection in Wexford Town

People in Wexford Town and surrounding areas are being invited to have their say on proposals for the future of flood protection in the area.Wexford County Council is holding an Emerging Options Public Participation Day as part of the Wexford Town and Environs Flood Relief Scheme.

The event will take place on Monday, August 24th, from 4pm to 8pm at Whites of Wexford Hotel.Members of the public will have an opportunity to view the shortlisted options being considered as part of the flood relief scheme.

Information will also be provided on the opportunities and constraints associated with each of the options.People attending will be able to speak directly with members of the project team and ask questions about the proposals.A questionnaire will also be available, allowing members of the public to provide feedback on the options.

Wexford County Council says public input will form an important part of the decision-making process and will help shape the emerging Preferred Flood Relief Option for Wexford.The consultation is part of the ongoing work to identify the most appropriate approach to reducing flood risk in Wexford Town and the surrounding area.

Anyone who is unable to attend the event in person can still take part.The exhibition materials and questionnaire will be made available online through the project website.
