Relay For Life Wexford is taking another step towards sustainability with the introduction of a new reusable cup system for its 2026 event.
Working in partnership with Wexford County Council, organisers will replace single-use cups with reusable alternatives that can be returned, professionally washed and reused. The initiative aims to significantly reduce waste during the 24-hour event, which attracts thousands of participants each year.
The move builds on the success of Relay’s Re-turn bottle and can recycling initiative, which has helped reduce litter while raising funds for the Irish Cancer Society.
Organisers say the Circular Cup System is part of a wider commitment to making Relay For Life Wexford a cleaner and greener event, proving that small changes can make a big difference while maintaining the strong community spirit at the heart of Relay.
