Motorists travelling in and out of Wexford town are being reminded that a Stop-Go traffic management system comes into operation on Wexford Bridge today.
The restrictions will be in place on the R741 from Monday, October 5th until Friday, October 9th, operating each day between 10am and 3pm
Drivers are being advised to allow extra time for their journeys, with delays likely on the approaches to the bridge.
The traffic management is facilitating a detailed structural investigation of Wexford Bridge.
The investigation involves specialist testing and analysis to determine the condition of structural elements of the bridge and help identify any future remediation requirements. The work can include non-destructive testing, invasive investigations and specialist access to parts of the structure.
The restrictions have been scheduled between 10am and 3pm to avoid the busiest morning and evening commuting periods.
Motorists travelling between Wexford town and the north side of the Slaney are being urged to plan ahead, take extra care and follow the directions of traffic management personnel.
The Stop-Go system is due to remain in place until Friday.
