Residents in County Wexford are weighing up their options after Sky issued up to 200 legal warning letters to alleged users of illegal IPTV dodgy box services.
The Independent Reports that the broadcaster says recipients must sign legally binding agreements promising to stop using pirated streaming services or risk legal action.
Many of those contacted say the letters are intimidating, with some reportedly delivered by hand at homes and workplaces.
Others say they’ll sign to avoid further trouble, while critics argue Sky is attempting to secure admissions of guilt based mainly on Revolut payment records linked to a convicted IPTV provider.
Sky says it is prepared to pursue injunctions, damages and legal costs against anyone who ignores the warnings.
