Wexford Community Unites for Friary Roof Restoration Variety Concert

Wexford’s local arts and musical community are coming together for a major fundraising night in aid of the Friary Roof Restoration Fund.

A special Variety Concert will take place on Thursday, September 24th at The Talbot Hotel, Wexford, with doors opening at 7:00 PM and performances kicking off at 7:30 PM. All proceeds are going directly toward the urgent structural repairs currently underway on the historic School Street church.

Passersby will have noticed the protective scaffolding erected around the iconic building as conservation efforts continue to safeguard its roof against severe weather wear and water ingress. To help meet the significant renovation costs, Guardian Father Robert Cojoc and local organizer Breda Fowler have assembled a stacked lineup of regional talent.

Hosted by MC Paul Walsh, the evening will feature live performances from the Rowe Street Choir, Neil Foley and Katie Black, Jessie Sludds, Selskar Strings, and many more.

Alongside a night of top-tier music and entertainment, attendees will also have the chance to win prizes in a raffle on the night.

Organizers are urging the public to bring along friends and family to support a vital cause and help ensure the sanctuary remains preserved for generations to come. Tickets can be purchased at the door, through the Friary parish office, or via local event organizers.
