Wexford County Council has welcomed strong public interest in its latest affordable housing development following a well-attended information event in Wexford town.
The event, held at Whites Hotel, gave prospective buyers the opportunity to learn more about An Lisín Mór in Coolballow – a new affordable housing development that will deliver 20 A-rated homes.
The scheme marks the second affordable housing project in Wexford town and the sixth launched by Wexford County Council since 2025 as demand for affordable home ownership continues to grow.
Developed in partnership with Arcona Developments, An Lisín Mór will include a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes designed to provide sustainable and energy-efficient housing options for local buyers.
Representatives from the Council’s housing and commercial finance teams were on hand during the event to explain eligibility criteria, affordability calculations and the application process.
With Government supports and equity contributions available, affordable purchase prices will begin from €240,000, with buyers also able to avail of the Help to Buy Scheme where eligible.
Cathaoirleach of Wexford County Council Cllr Joe Sullivan said the strong turnout reflected the real demand for affordable housing opportunities across the county and described the development as another important step in helping working individuals and families achieve home ownership.
Applications for An Lisín Mór will open at 12 noon on Wednesday, June 24th.
Wexford County Council will also host an online information webinar on June 18th at 7pm to guide potential applicants through the process and demonstrate the online application portal.
