Submissions Now Accepted For Wexford's Heritage Strategy For The Next 5 Years

You can now have your say on the future of Wexford's Heritage.

The public is invited to comment on the Draft Wexford County Heritage Strategy 2026-2031.

Wexford County Council says it's ready to welcome submissions from individuals, community groups, heritage organisations, and anyone with an interest in the county's history.

The draft proposal can be viewed at Enniscorthy, New Ross, Gorey and Wexford libraries while an online version of the plans can be accessed through Wexford County Council’s public consultation portal.

The council says it wants to get the public involved "ensure the Strategy reflects the values, needs, and aspirations of the people of Wexford while guiding the conservation and enjoyment of our heritage for generations to come."

Ideas can be submitted in writing to County Hall and submissions will be accepted until the 25th of September.

It comes hot on the heels of a very successful edition of National Heritage Week in the county which was seen as a roaring success.

Events were held all around the county with everyone young and old learning something new about the place they live.

The council has thanked "all organisers, volunteers, participants, and partners, and to the Heritage and Biodiversity Offices for their valued support."

It also says it looks "forward to building on this success in the years ahead."
