Update - most electricity supplies restored, all by evening, says e.s.b.
Most homes that suffered electricity outages due to last night's lightning storm have now been re-connected, the company says. Around five thousand power customers lost their supply overnight, with major disruptions in and around Castlebridge, Fethard, Duncannon and Killinick. The ESB says that that number has now fallen to less than 500, the majority of them around Castlebridge and environs. Supplies in the south of the county have been repaired and the company says the rest of customers will be re-connected by this evening.
