The Vatican has given its backing to one of its highest ranking members who's facing child abuse allegations.
Australian cardinal George Pell is being charged with historic complaints by multiple accusers. He's denied the claims and insisted he's been subjected to a relentless character assassination. A statement has also been issued to say the Pope has great respect for the Cardinal's "honesty" and "energetic dedication" to the church.
